Pantone designated "Greenery" as the color of the year for 2017. We have certainly seen that reflected in rental trends this year! What we love about this color - it is neutral, earthy, and can be paired with almost any other color! Check out our must-have "greenery" inventory and how our brides have used this beautiful color!Read More
Marnie and Alex didn't let a little rain ruin their celebration.
Well, maybe it was more than a "little" rain, but their love sure shone through!Read More

This past month we have gotten the question, "Do you think that will be too much color?" A LOT. And our answer is always a resounding NO.
In honor of this popular question, I've gathered a few of our favorite colorful tablescapes from recent REAL weddings and events. Yes, we love our gold collection too. And for some brides, it's EXACTLY what they want. But if you're a bride who is afraid to go bold, don't be! If color is your thing, embrace it! These photos prove it can be done in an elegant and tasteful way!Read More

The Southern Vintage Canine Team
We are crazy dog people around here. One benefit of running a family business out of your home is that your dogs get to be your assistants. With my parents' dogs and mine, it's always a party! We know there are other dog lovers out there, so we thought you might enjoy this adorable collection of our helpers in action.
Before you judge - dogs are not allowed on the rental furniture. However, you'll see that we are guilty of snapping some photos of their cuteness before we shoo them off of the inventory. The resulting photos are worth the effort required to clean the furniture afterward.
Meet Nana the Saint Bernard. Our inventory photo sessions have followed Nana from a teeny fluff-ball to her current giant goofiness. Nana loves playing chase, standing in the pool, and sleeping in people's laps. Nana belongs to Jenna, and lives in Savannah, but we cherish our visits with her!
Lucy the Bloodhound, owned by Holly and Bill (Mom and Dad), is quite the droopy terror. All wrinkles, slobber, energy, and destruction - Lucy makes sure there's never a dull moment.
Next up - Leo, the rescue pup (also Holly and Bill's)!
Leo loves rainbow colors, his dad, fancy collars, and ripping tennis balls to shreds.
Toby and CJ (Mom and Dad's as well) don't make appearances as often.
During our last round of inventory photos, even they joined the fun!
Now for my two love bugs!
Molly Monster is one of my two Greater Swiss Mountain Dog helpers. Molly is a princess who loves her hedgie and her new baby brother, is a sweet snuggler, and has killer spin moves.
My second Swiss helper is Molly's momma pup, Eliza Jane. Eliza is my most loyal (read: clingy) helper. She has a major sweet tooth, is a huge teddy bear, and the very best smile.
Sometimes we are lucky enough to get multiple helpers!
The purple princess chair is the most popular chair with our assistants.
We wouldn't trade our furry helpers for the world! Thanks for humoring my need to share a million dog photos. Now to train our newest employee (pictured below)!
Anybody else out there have special helpers?
. . .
When your parents own a vintage rental company and want to throw you a baby shower, you know it's going to be good...
Holly (mom) wanted to invite all of our loved ones (women, men, and children) to a sophisticated, whimsical party. She drew inspiration from one of our favorite children's books - Where the Wild Things Are. Perfection for a little boy. Her goal was a celebratory, welcoming, playful atmosphere with sophisticated and earthy design. With the help of some outstanding vendors, she absolutely succeeded, and we got to celebrate the arrival of our little one with so many we hold dear.
We took the opportunity to take some maternity photos with the incredible Katerina Sophia. Knowing our lives were about to change forever, we wanted some images to capture ourselves as a couple before we became a family of three. What a special evening of love and laughter. We couldn't be more grateful!
The lovely and talented Elena Balkcom (pictured below) of Laurel Avenue styled these comfy lounge areas and adorable vignettes. They really set the tone for the evening.
And the FOOD!
Fountain of Juice knocked it out of the park with these delicious displays.
I'm told the signature cocktail was delicious as well. : )
The seasonally appropriate apple cider old fashioned was a big hit.
While most guests lounged and mingled, there was a beautifully set table styled with
Southern Vintage's china, glassware, flatware, and textiles.
Mary Pinson's flowers were the beautifully organic icing on the cake!
I had the privilege of doing the signage myself - it was a family affair!
Even the pups were involved!
A happy, beautiful night for an exciting occasion.
Thank you to all who were involved.

Jes & Tyler's wedding was unique, authentic, eclectic, and dreamy. A clear expression of their love on a warm summer day. If you are a bride in full-on planning mode, a future bride daydreaming about your love getting on one knee, or just someone who appreciates vintage beauty... this blog post is for you. Jes, the stunning bride, was generous enough to share her thoughts, time, and truly stunning photos by Amber Phinisee with us.Read More
When viewing this GORGEOUS photo gallery by Evan Perigo, it's impossible to miss the emotions of the day. Bliss. Unadulterated happiness. Love. Everything that every bride wants her wedding day to be. Brittany and Cole's day was incredibly beautiful. Their love was evident in every detail of their day. I know you'll fall in love with these photos of this beautiful couple just as much as I did.
The first look photos were taken at the majestic Wormsloe Plantation. This location just screams Old Historic Savannah. Sweet southern romance.
Brittany and Cole getting ready for a made-for-the-movies union. Even down to the tiniest sparkly details, everything was perfect.
... but one of the details I can't get enough of is this flower girl dress. I mean, seriously!
Back to the love birds... their ceremony in Monterey Square was emotional, intimate, and absolutely beautiful. They used our mix and match wood chairs to create an inviting, warm environment for their loved ones.
As stunning as their ceremony was, their love for each other stole the show!
The vintage mix and match chairs were transported from Monterey Square to the reception site (Harper Fowlkes House). This didn't happen without incident. Our rental truck broke down, we had to call in reinforcements and transport them one pick-up load at a time, and a reasonable timeline suddenly seemed MUCH shorter. Oh, the fun of behind-the-scenes action on a wedding day! That aside, when I said this set-up is movie worthy I wasn't exaggerating. Take a look...
The floral arrangements by A to Zinnias made each long, family-style table a garden wonderland. They really outdid themselves with the ethereal bridal bouquet, the succulent boutonnieres, and the greenery table runners.
Y'all, even the food (Cape Creations Catering) was pretty!
Desserts and games - what could be better??
And more desserts!
And another gallery of Brittany and Cole - because they are just too pretty not to!
Truly a pleasure to have our vintage pieces be a part of such a charming day. These two even made a sparkly, happy exit!
Cheers to the new husband and wife! May your life together be even more beautiful than your wedding day!

You're invited to join us as we re-live one of our very favorite weddings to date. This blog post has been a long time coming, but we are glad to finally share all this beauty with you. Elena and Zach designed a unforgettable wedding that invited their family and friends to be a part of their love story.
Elena - wedding coordinator, small business owner (Laurel Avenue), and overall rock star with a heart of gold, has a styling eye like no other. She is a risk-taker, a people-pleaser, and a logistics genius. She imagined a delicate balance of what some might see as conflicting visions - eclectic funkiness, elegance, and a fun, energetic, but somehow relaxed, cozy, natural atmosphere. Evidence of this bride's talent - she achieved that exact vision! Most importantly, she got to celebrate with loved ones after saying "I do" to her beloved Zach (a kind baby/dog-whisperer, basketball junky, and aspiring teacher).
I won't even apologize for how many pictures you're about to see. It was hard enough to narrow it down this much! Kaitie Bryant was the PERFECT artist to capture this most special day.
On our end, Elena and Zach's wedding was especially involved- so it was all hands on deck! Elena cleared out our showroom and chose to fill the historic Library Ballroom with all of our upholstered seating instead of traditional wedding tables and chairs. Her idea was really a first for us - she wanted everyone to mingle and relax. Every decision she made - vendors, layout, timing - was in order to create the perfect "flow" and make her guests feel like they were comfortably in her living room.
Again, bucking tradition, Elena didn't use flowers on each and every table. She wanted the beautiful antique furniture pieces to speak for themselves. As a result, the few floral arrangements she did use (masterpieces created by Roy Lamb) became focal points around the room.
One of our the most unique, eye-catching areas of Elena and Zach's wedding was their bar and drink tagging station. They used our printer's desk for their bar, our industrial metal shelves to display a bright collection of our glassware, and Eliza Jane Lettering's custom chalk art on our favorite gold chalkboard to display instructions for their guests!
Zach and Elena's day was everything they wanted and more. Kindred spirits starting their lives together with their friends, family, and a beautiful room full of old treasures.
We were doubly blessed to be guests at this wedding, getting to share in each happy moment. Including a brother-sister dance we will never forget...
Best wishes to the creative couple who continues to inspire us with their generosity, compassion, and love for humanity! Their adventure is just beginning...

This elegant intimate wedding is so stunning!
The gorgeous wedding reception tablescape is a perfect example of the incredible way vintage tableware can compliment and complete the style of the wedding.
Zhenya Royter, with By Bow Event Design, styled this beautiful wedding at Old Viniings Inn. She shared her vision and color palette with us and we helped select the perfect pieces of vintage china, flatware and stemware to complete the look.
The results were WOW!
The color palette had shades of blush, purple and gold
The beautiful and elegant bride and groom.
The flowers styled by By Bow Event Design were just breathtaking!

Mom-to-be, Veronica, had a clear vision for this celebration
even before she was expecting.

As sweater weather approaches,
I can't help thinking of this amazing and romantic shoot
that we did with Haley Sheffield photography.
This shoot holds a special place in Southern Vintage's heart
because it was shot at our home in Macon.
It was featured on Style Me Pretty and came together stunningly
thanks to Melissa Welch's styling, The Sentimentalist's gowns, and Vintage Green's jewelry.

Shirley & Harvey surely had a unique wedding day in Athens, GA.
Their personal style is echoed throughout their wedding design, including our amber glasses and stoneware dinner plates.
We can't help but swoon over these photos!
Wedding inspiration comes from a match up the memories, values, and experiences that make you as a couple unique with an aesthetic “look” that captures that and wraps it into a cohesive event. For this wedding inspiration, Candice Beaty and Danielle Hulsey of Chancey Charm brought to life real-life couple Chelsea and Tanner’s love for everything organic and natural with the sky blue colors of Britt Bass’s “Peri” painting.
